The pandemic continues. The Schauspielhaus Zürich is the scene of a long-forgotten past, a possible future or an ongoing parallel world. We experience an ensemble that is at home in this theater in various ways. Sebastian, the once celebrated actor, improvises on a rehearsal stage, goes live and has lost touch with reality in the eyes of others. Marysol, the equipment manager, checks the inventory lists and the whole house, it must go on. Stefan, the artistic operations director, tries to rent out unused storage space to earn extra money. The actress Alicia is planning a performance as a revolt – or vice versa – and is looking for comrades-in-arms. Others use the „gap in the system“. And then there is the dubious suicide of an employee. Questions of guilt, responsibility, and one’s own will combine in this microcosm. How do we use gridlock? What do we do when there is „nothing“ left to do? What do we say when no one listens to us anymore?
The film project was made on original locations with employees of the Schauspielhaus Zürich, who all embody themselves in this narration.

Die Pandemie dauert an. Das Schauspielhaus Zürich ist Schauplatz einer schon längst vergessenen Vergangenheit, einer möglichen Zukunft oder einer andauernden Parallelwelt. Wir erleben ein Ensemble, das in diesem Theater auf unterschiedlichste Art zu Hause ist. Der einst gefeierte Schauspieler Sebastian improvisiert auf einer Probebühne, geht live und hat in den Augen anderer den Bezug zur Realität verloren. Marysol, die Ausstattungsleiterin, kontrolliert die Inventarlisten und das ganze Haus, es muss ja weitergehen. Stefan, der künstlerische Betriebsdirektor, versucht ungenutzte Lagerflächen zu vermieten um sich was dazuzuverdienen. Die Schauspielerin Alicia plant eine Performance als Aufstand – oder umgekehrt – und sucht Mitstreiter:innen. Andere nutzen die „Lücke im System“. Und dann gibt es noch diese dubiosen Selbstmord einer Mitarbeiterin. Fragen nach Schuld, Verantwortung und dem eigenen Wollen verbinden sich in dem Mikrokosmos. Wie nutzen wir den Stillstand? Was tun wir, wenn es „nichts“ mehr zu tun gibt? Was sagen wir, wenn uns niemand mehr zuhört?
Das Filmprojekt entstand an Originalschauplätzen mit Mitarbeitenden des Schauspielhaus Zürich, die sich in dieser Narration alle selbst verkörpern.
